Caught Live: Ryan Howard Of City Center
Ryan Howard of City Center
By Leslie Hampton Published June 8, 2010
Drummer: Ryan Howard
Venue:The Blank Club, April 14th
Ryan Howard is the drummer for experimental indie pop band, City Center. Maybe it's the rise of band drama, shortage of commented people or the ease of creating music with new technology, but more and more two piece bands are surfacing. Both Ryan and the other half of City Center, Fred Thomas (most known for his previous band, Saturday Looks Good to Me) both play percussion as well as sample beats. An interesting blend of live guitar, drums and electronics.
When not designing web pages, plonking her rare guitars or banging on her eBay drums, Leslie Hampton haunts northern California clubs and house concerts photographing musicians.
[Ed. Note: Each episode of Caught In The Act features a photo of a drummer in action, from the famous like Danny Carey to the not-so-famous local indies. If you're a photographer who'd like to feature your work in Caught In The Act, drop us a note.]
