Drummer: Keil Corcoran

Band: STRFKR (aka Pyramiddd, aka Starfucker)

Venue: Homestead Lanes, Cupertino May 15th

Keil Corcoran plays drums for Indie dance band STRFKR. They gained popularity when their song "Rawnald Gregory Erickson The Second" was featured in a Target commercial. When I first looked at his drum kit, I thought he had bright pink post-it notes on his heads. Turned out to be pink duct tape. Electronic drums and drum sounds have come a long way, but I still very much appreciate seeing an acoustic kit in an electronic-centric band. He also plays in Fakedrugs

Keil plays with two snares, with one postioned to his far right. This positioning is handy for when other band members join his kit.

When not designing web pages, plonking her rare guitars or banging on her eBay drums, Leslie Hampton haunts northern California clubs and house concerts photographing musicians.

[Ed. Note: Each episode of Caught In The Act features a photo of a drummer in action, from the famous like Danny Carey to the not-so-famous local indies. If you're a photographer who'd like to feature your work in Caught In The Act, drop us a note.]
