BAE in conjunction with Telefunken hosted a live show of some of Hollywood’s biggest names to showcase their preamps and microphones. The All-star band included Matt Sorum and Kenny Aronoff. 
Robert Downs is one of DRUM's go-to photographers who has shot everyone from Abe Cunningham to Stanton Moore for the magazine. 
He has also worked work with a host of the world's top drum companies such as DW, Pearl, Gretsch, DDRUM, Sabian, and Zildjian and photographed hundreds of top bands and artists.

When we caught Chris Pennie's clinic in late October, we felt both privileged and duped. Privileged to witness the North Jersey speed demon's mathematic beats on a great sounding Mapex Velvetone topped with choice Sabians. Duped because he had already left Coheed And Cambria but neglected to say anything to the rapt audience. That's OK, Chris: We know that the next Return To Earth album will see your polyrhythmic potential fully realized.

On the SF stop of Dream Theater’s current tour behind new release A Dramatic Turn Of Events, Mike Mangini’s ripping five-minute solo was the highlight of the night. Dig those quarter toms mounted horizontally above the rack toms.
