If you thought the only thing going on in Scranton, PA were the shenanigans at Dunder Mifflin, you need to peep Roland Greco. His solo CD has a sci-fi soundtrack vibe, all instruments dubbed using GarageBand and played by Greco himself. Particularly cool is the bongo solo he lays over a full-kit workout, whose signatures are pointless to nail down because he’s changing them so often and breaking them up with tight, fast, even fills. Four-and-a-half years of drumming experience under his belt and already a teacher at the local music store, Greco plays in three different bands, which allow him to cover everything from jazz to hard-rock styles. Greco was compelled to put out his own instrumental drum album because he is “bored with normal music for the most part.” Eighteen is a bit young to be so jaded, but we like this guy. The new-wave font on his T is dope too.
