Me and my ‘74 blue sparkle Slingerlands. Originally came with as a 13/14/16/22 (Slingerland Rock Outfit) but I use the 13/16/22 combo.

Here’s a pic of my Ludwig set. I bought this set new in 1974 and have been playing it every since in band genres from country, blues hard rock, metal, classic rock, alternative, jazz, top 40 and r&b. Only needed to change heads and tuning for sound I was looking for. It’s been a great kit. B-22, T-12, T-13, FT 16, S-14 x 6.5. If I can find some smaller pics I’ll add later. All other pics too big to post.

Very nice! Have you ever had to recut the bearing edges since you first bought the kit?

No I haven’t. This kits been everywhere with me. I even took it on the ship with me when I was in the Navy in early 80’s. The only thing I’ve considered having done is rewrapped. The seams on the two mounted toms are a little warped. Considered a custom wrap. I just haven’t brought myself to the point of doing it. Nobody notices but me it seems. Any suggestions?

I said they were 74’s but after thinking about the time I bought them was January, so they’re 73 Ludwigs. And the original snare I use is a 5x14. toms: 12x8, 13x9, floor 16x16, B- 22 x 14.
