Are we talking just in drums and gear? or like Roth IRA’s and real estate? lol
in the first case, a full set of at least halfway decent cymbals.
in the second? Idk lol
Real estate for me. I consider drums and percussion an expense. Very few drums and percussion actually result in being an investment. Now, I plan on a few percussive expenses. I am currently waiting for a Matt Smith bongo. I would also like to get a Master Helmi tombak and an Elman Percussion riq in the next few years. Add to that a couple of Matt Nolan cymbals. I have my eyes on some Volcano congas too.
I’m always looking for a new ride, but can never find one I like enough to cough up the cash.
Any ideas on a ride with good ping AND great wash/crash?
Not looking to make any large outlay for gear in the next year, I can recommend a Sabian AAX Stage Ride. Mine is a 20” and has a great ping, awesome bell tone and great wash. Really not a bad sounding crash when hit hard.
After buying my new Ludwig Epic shell pack this year I am drum rich and cash poor for the immediate future.
I will get a Sabian AAX OMNI 18” as soon as the local stores get them. I cannot remember ever being so enthusiastic about a new instrument. If I like as much as I hope, I will trade in most of my other cymbals and get the AAX OMNI 22”. Peace and goodwill.
Im tryin to decide right now between an spd-s and a td-20/s. I realize there is a slight price difference which is what my problem is. I can afford both but if I get the td-20 you have to buy alot of extras (ex. Software trigger pads cords) but if I just go with the spds I could prob mic my kit too. So is it worth the extra money for the td-20?
Any help would be great. I no the spds’ interface was created at MIT. Is it confusing? And if anyones worked with the td-20 are there that many better features and more sounds that constitute its price tag?
