I actually have a few maple shell snare drums that I love, but have found that I enjoy a certain sweetness inherent in cherry and sharpness of nickel-plated brass. Copper is cool, too. What’s your favorite choice?

My favorite choice is maple, but for metals, I would choose brass every time.

I got the opportunity to play on a Trick set and I was impressed. A buddy of mine got his aluminum tubs delivered a few days ago and he immediately called me over to play around on them and we annoyed the neighbors 3 houses down. they had so much projection I actually had to cover my ears when he played. amazing drums. as far as quality of sound, I love bubinga. the tones are just amazing.

I played a 13x7 aluminum snare a while back that was a monster. It’s projection was amazing.

No brainer really as I have an M5 Maple kit.I`d LOVE to get a DW super solid snare.

I mostly play aluminum or brass.
