So much to list- I’ll make it simple:
I have a ‘68 Slingerland double bass set w/22” ers and 12, 13 and 14 rack single headed toms with 2 16” floors recovered (unfortunately by me) in turned aluminum- probably bad for the value but look cool
-/ an electronic 5 piece Gretsch set,
-/ a small Yamaha club set w20” bass 10 and 12 racks, 14” floor in white pearl
-/my main set of Ludwigs with 26” bass, 13 rack, 16 and 18 floors in white marine pearl
Lotsa cymbals but mainly Zildjian: 21 Ping and 21 A Sweet rides, 13, 16, 18 thin crashes, 18EFX, 18 China,8 and 10 splashes, 14” Rezo and New Beat Hats,.....etc. I’ve got a bunch and switch them up depending on gig….
A BUNCH of snares by Slingerland, Ludwig, DW, Pdp and Yamaha…. 6, 8 , 10 and 12 Roto Toms, timbales, conga and many hand drums…. 5 homemade tube style Octobans in 6” and Ludwig, Yamaha, Pearl and Gibralter hardware
AND MY LATEST just purchased: The LUDWIG Amber Vistalite Zeppelin reissue w/ 26"bass, 14” rack, 16” and 18” floors and I just LOVE this set! ( If anyone has any tuning tricks for the acrylics let me know- )the bass is tremendous but the floors have a little bit of a (weird) metallic sounding ring- not bad but of course not like my birch shells. I think I just need to tune up resonants a bit. I want a deep slightly resonant rock tonality without too many overtones but NOT flat. Thus far I have no dampening and they are VERY live yet still punchy. I think this is the set I will gig with alternating w/other Ludwigs as I like the larger sizes for the stuff we play…
