Hi guys,

I am an avid drummer and filmmaker currently making a new film about a young boy in the 1950s who’s only dream is to be a great drummer like his idols Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has any old copies of Drum! Magazine they’d be willing to part with.  The film takes place in the 1950s and I wanted to have an era-appropriate magazine as a prop for the film.

Please let me know.  And feel free to email me directly if you or anyone you know has a copy.

Thanks!

David

Hi David,

Sounds like fun, but DRUM! Magazine wasn’t around in the ‘50s. We began publishing in 1991, so the cover artwork wouldn’t be appropriate for the period in which your plot is set. If you want historical accuracy, you should look for copies of The Ludwig Drummer. That was just about the only publication for drummers in those days, barring Downbeat.

Good luck!
