Hey guys and gals,

I run IEM’s and was wondering if anyone could help me with running a submix. I am looking for something where I can run the others into it along with my click and mix it how I want. I know this will be simple for most of you but I’ve never done it. So…suggestions, advice and of course pictures of your set up will be greatly appreciated!

If you want to do the mix right at your kit, you should get a small mixer (behringer is the best for the price) and run the direct outs from the big mixer if it has them.  Otherwise, most of the big mixers have subgroups, so you can assign the channels you want into a subgroup, then run that through a headphone amp.

One place I play uses the Avian system. I don’t know how much it costs, or the set-up, but it works real good. 15 channels I can control myself, easy to use.

For in ears, I use Shure SCL5. Not cheap. You might be able to find custom molded’s for less $. I’ve been told to make sure you get at least duel drivers.
