Very few manufacturers will release new product information until mid-January, when they introduce their new lines at the Winter NAMM show in L.A. I understand why—for one thing they don’t want to tell their competitors what they have been working on all year, just in case one of them are able to steal some of their ideas by the time NAMM rolls around. And secondly, they don’t want to blunt the impact they want to have by making a big splash at NAMM. It is remarkable how important those four days in January are to the music products industry. To a great extent, it determines the amount of business that will be done for the rest of the year.
Of course, we will keep you updated on all new gear as soon as we can.
