This is another article which I just found out when I was looking for something else. it was originally place in another forum. I added a few words for clarification…“I would like to point out, the factors in the sound of the conga which are; the body of the conga, the type of skin set up in the congas, the diameter of it, the tuning, (how high) it is tuned, the callous in the congero’s hands, the level of humidity in the place where you are playing, the cutting-attack- technique used to play de congas, the location in the conga-head you are hitting, the floor(if… the conga is down on the floor). But is the conga is on stage then, the way the (mic) is setup, is going to affect not yours, but the perception of how the audience,(crowd) is going to listen the congas. The Brother Gerry Zaragemca
