I do not have any vintage drums, but I am looking to buy. I found a 70’s Slingerland kit that is beautiful, but I am wondering how well this would hold up as I would use it as my primary kit. I currently have a Gretsch Catalina but would need to get rid of it to afford the Slingerland.

In your experience would the Slingerland hold up?

Slingerland made some great kits! If it’s in good condition you shouldn’t have too many problems with it. I actually have a friend in Tampa FL that does vintage kit restorations and he’s won an award in DRUM magazine for it.
