Which explains why it “Whip It” was Devo’s biggest hit!

Have a good weekend.

Hey Dan,

My weekend is ending with a bang. I’m playing at a blues festival in a quaint little town in the California wine country. The promoters put us up in a really Tony bed and breakfast, fed us as much barbecue as we want, paid us grandly, and we only have to play one set. Not bad!

It’s nice when promoters appreciate the musicians that they hire. I have had some nightmare gigs where the promoters were not prepared or just didn’t care to look after the band properly. Maybe there could be a thread devoted to nightmare gigs.

I hate to admit it, but it seems as if we overextended our resources by promising too much crossover between lessons in the magazine and on the website. As a result, it doesn’t look like we’re going to get the Bill Ward lessons anytime soon, I’m afraid. We have decided to limit the number of online lessons that relate to transcriptions in the magazine so that we can actually live up to our promises. Clearly, we’re still working the bugs out of the website. Sorry about that.
