Blaemire Drums @ 2012 Chicago Show

Blaemire Drums

This year’s Chicago Drum Show was notable for hosting the reintroduction of two drum shell designs that had virtually become extinct – Peavey (now known as Boogie Woodie, which you can check out here) and Blaemire (now made by the newly formed Jenkins-Martin Drum Company). Blaemire was best known for building Hal Blaine’s infamous concert tom kit back in the ’60s using fiberglass shells. Jenkins-Martin has been meticulous in duplicating the original design, right down to the lugs.
