Chicago Drum Show: Erie Drums & Shell Company

We saw a wide variety of shell types and a couple truly unique ideas at Erie Drums & Shell Company’s booth at the Chicago Drum Show. These craftsmen bend their own wood, but unlike other purist companies that like to start with raw materials, Erie stem bends ply lumber and likes to conduct sound and cosmetic experiments by enjoining various types of wood plies within a single shell. Our standout ringer – the peacock leather-wrapped birch shell model. Never seen anything quite like it.
