NAMM Preview! Rhythm Tech’s Hat Trick Upgrades

By Andy DoerschukPublished January 10, 2011

It’s always gratifying to see a great product become better, like the Hat Trick – the venerable hi-hat tambourine from the geniuses at Rhythm Tech. First introduced way back in the halcyon days of 1993, the Hat Trick gave drummers a way to play tambourine patterns with their hi-hat pedal while freeing their hands to do ... well, anything else. Tricky, indeed! But now the company has introduced a smart upgrade with a quick release knob that makes it fast and easy to mount and remove from the hi-hat pull rod. Additionally, the G2 incorporates a stick-friendly soft playing surface, so drummers can play stick patterns on the tambourine as well as activating it with the hi-hat pedal. With a super strong and yet lightweight polymer frame and your choice of nickel or brass jingles, you need look no further for your next cha-ching!
