We had our first encounter with the folks at Offworld Percussion during the 2013 Winter NAMM Show. They were demonstrating a unique wood instrument that seemed to split the difference between a cajon and bongos, offering multiple tones depending on which side was played. However, we couldn’t quite parse the name of the product in the video, thanks to the constant roar of the NAMM exhibit hall. And apparently the instrument is so new that it still hasn’t appeared on the Offworld web site. Our best is that it’s called “The Jemonite,” Any other guesses?
