Pork Pie’s owner Bill Detamore gave us a booth tour, beginning with a dignified cherry/bubinga masterpiece. Its single exterior cherry ply is finished in a candy yellow, which translates into honey amber when it reacts to cherry’s reddish hue. We fell in love with the new Vintage Shell Kit, featuring 3-ply shells with inner and outer maple plies sandwiching poplar in the middle. It’s dressed in a retro wrap finish that was very cool. The company also offered a deal on Black Satin Little Squealer birch/mahogany kits. As always, Bill hit a home run.
