Greetings from L.A. The last time you heard from me I discussed some things to prepare the beginning double-bass player, with particular attention paid to the weaker limb (the left foot for right-handed players, and the right foot for lefties).
Now that you’re getting comfortable with your feet, let’s get the hands involved. Obviously the possibilities are endless, but hopefully these few things will get you started and help you to come up with your own exercise ideas for coordination.
Hilary Jones graduated with honors from the Armed Forces School Of Music, and has since played with Maria Muldaur, The Mamas & The Papas, Angela Bofill, Clarence Clemons, Pete Escovedo, Ray Obiedo, Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, Tribal Tech, Eric Marienthal, Doc Severinson, & Robben Ford.
