Tom Brechtlein: Friendly Ghost Stroking

Hey folks! It’s me again, of course, writing from across the pond somewhere over here in Europe. I put together a few examples that show the use of ghost notes in their primary purpose of keeping the groove rolling along. The third example simply adds the hi-hat played with the foot.

How light you play the ghost notes is up to you. This is where musicality comes into drumming and you should rely on your ears to tell you which dynamics are appropriate. They’ll tell you how to adjust.
