On Umphrey’s McGee’s latest release, Death By Stereo, the rhythmic duo of drummer Kris Myers and percussionist Andy Farag weave an intricate, solid foundation for some of the band’s most inventive and exciting material to date. We asked them to select a few of their favorite drum parts from the album that they thought would prove the most interesting and fun for readers to learn. The two drummers provided both written examples and the video demonstrations below.
To see the sheet music for the following examples and read Myers’ and Farag’s analysis of their respective parts, be sure to pick up a copy of the December 2011 issue of DRUM! Magazine, available on newsstands or from our secure online store.
