We happened to pass by Zildjian’s massive 2012 NAMM booth just as drumming greats Peter Erskine and Steve Smith traded jazz ride patterns on some of the company’s newest ride cymbals. It was more of a friendly exchange than a cutting session, but where else besides the NAMM Show would you ever stumble upon an impromptu moment like this?
