While trolling the halls of the 2011 NAMM Show last month, we ran across a first-time exhibitor – Lamb Drum Company – run by proprietor Monty Lamb. The young company’s sole product was a steel-shell snare drum. Doesn’t sound all that unusual, does it? Except for one hitch – it’s shell is a full one inch thick and weighs ... well ... heck of a lot. Offering models with powder-coated, nickel plated, or polished finishes, Lamb generated its own word of mouth among drum fanatics at the show.
