The Avedis Zildjian Company interspersed new rides, crashes, and hats with some strategic extensions of existing lines at NAMM 2012. We found the broadest expansion in the company’s retro K Constantinople Series, which included several new sizes as well as revised cup profiles and lathing treatments. The company also showed off the handsome limited edition 21" A Custom 20th Anniversary Ride, and the 22" K Custom Dark Complex Ride. But if you’re looking for Zildjian’s most unique 2012 models, we think it’s a tie between the heavily hammered Pocket Hi-Hats and the K Custom Hybrid Trash Smash, which features a very odd inverted bell that speaks with a sharp, piercing sound.
