2010 Drum Road Trip In August

If at first you succeed wildly — hell yeah, try it again! That’s exactly the plan for this year’s edition of Drum Road Trip, the drumming event that has rocked upstate New York for the past two years. The 2010 version will be held at Harmony House in the village of Webster, just outside of Rochester, New York on August 7 and 8 and will feature drum clinics from R&B legend Bernard Purdie as well as speed demon Derek Roddy (pictured at left). Both Saturday August 7 and Sunday August 8 will offer on-site lessons from a crackerjack staff of drum teachers, including noted L.A. studio drummer and online teacher Tom Coyne and former Steve Gadd drum tech Dave Cohen, who will conduct a drum tuning seminar. Add to that a cavalcade of contests, giveaways, and vendor exhibits, and you can look forward to a solid weekend of drums, and nothing but drums. Online advance tickets for both days will be $35. Saturday-only tickets will be $30; Sunday-only tickets will be $10. Tickets will also be available at the door at slightly higher prices. For more information, go here.
