Female jazz drummer Billie Davies has been nominated as Jazz Artist of the Year 2013 by the L.A. Music Awards.
With a background in classical and jazz, and a lifetime of musical experience in jams, performances, recordings, and production, Davies has been a lover of rhythm and drums since age three. Inspired by her grandfather, she began her musical career as a DJ in Europe, and became a professional musician at 25. She performed throughout the world and made the move to the United States at age 32.
Since then she has recorded four albums — the last of which, 12 VOLT, will be released in October of this year.
