Cute but oddball Japanese noise-rock band The Boredoms are set to release a DVD documentary of their 2007 drumming concert 77 Boadrum, which took place at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in Brooklyn, New York. Numerologists take note: While the name Boadrum is a portmanteau of the band’s name and the word “drum,” the 77 refers to the fact that it was held on July 7, 2007 at 7:07 p.m., and featured 77 drummers playing along with the band at the same time. The 89-minute film features interviews, behind the scene sequences, as well as footage of the performance. The DVD will be released through Thrill Jockey Records on September 7.
