UPDATE: Canadian drum teacher Brian Bolliger has been acquitted in the molestation trial initiated by a former student. “I am not satisfied that the Crown has proven the offence beyond a reasonable doubt for a number of reasons,” said Justice William Bassel on Wednesday.

A Canadian drum teacher has been accused of fondling a young female student during lessons. Brian Bolliger, the 55-year-old former drummer with the progressive rock band True Myth, is on trial in Toronto, accused of sexual interference and assault for repeatedly fondling a girl at her weekly lesson for two years, while she was between the ages of six and eight. Bolliger taught drums at Scarboro Music Company until the student complained to her mother that her teacher was “touching me.” Bolliger has denied the accusation. Final arguments are scheduled for August 8.
