Last October, the City Council of Warren, Ohio voted unanimously to rename a street after Dave Grohl, an idea introduced by none other than Sgt. Joe O'Grady of the burg's police department. This Saturday the former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighter frontman -- who was born in Warren and still has family there -- will make a homecoming to attend the dedication ceremony for Dave Grohl Alley during the city's Music Is Art Festival.
Reportedly, Grohl has requested that the city provide two drum sets fort the dedication: one for himself and the second for Jacob Robinson, an 18-year-old from Warren, who volunteered to keep the area clean and help out artists who painted the road.
The dedication is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and the music will start on the stage set up alongside Courthouse Square about 10:30 a.m. Admission is free.
