DRUMmagazine.com Among Hacked Sites

We just learned that yesterday’s service outage that impacted the DRUMmagazine.com website was the result of an internal network problem at GoDaddy rather than the hosting site being hacked or because of a denial of service attack. Please see our original report below.

DRUMmagazine.com was just one of the millions of websites affected by yesterday’s crash of the GoDaddy web hosting company, hindering our ability to post news and information for most of the day.

The massive hack was attributed to a person named @AnonymousOwn3r on Twitter, apparently a member of the Anonymous collective, who took credit for the outage. “I’m taking godaddy down bacause well i'd like to test how the cyber security is safe and for more reasons that i can not talk now," @AnonymousOwn3r wrote at tech blog Mashable.

The problem was corrected by yesterday evening. “Most customer hosted sites back online,” GoDaddy poste on Twitter. “We’re working out the last few kinks for our site & control centers. No customer data compromised.”
