Women with a passion for rhythm won’t want to miss Born To Drum 2010, a four-day drum and dance intensive with classes, performances, healing circles, organic food, and drumming fun. Set in the idyllic backdrop of the 1,700-acre Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma, California from July 2–5, Born To Drum will feature a faculty of master drummers from a wide range of cultures, including Edwina Lee Tyler, Ubaka Hill, Jacqueline Rago, Carolyn Brandy, Susu Pamapanin, and Annette Argentina Aguilar, among many others. Participants will be able to choose from 65 classes during daytime hours while enjoying performances and jams in the evening. The camp will include a marketplace featuring instruments, jewelry, clothing, and fine arts, while body workers provide massages and other healing arts. Prices are based on accommodation, ranging from $415 for the “weekend commuter” to $760 for a private room, and apply until June 30 (add $15 for late registration). For more information, go here.
