Parmalee Drummer Shot In Robbery Attempt

Scott Thomas, the 37-year-old drummer for Greenville, North Carolina band Parmalee, was shot three times at 1:10 Tuesday morning following the group’s gig at the Rock Hill, South Carolina club The Money. The bandmembers were loading equipment into their RV when two men forced their way into the vehicle and demanded money at gunpoint. An ensuing shootout wounded both suspected robbers – one fatally – and left Thomas in critical condition. Both Thomas and the surviving suspect were admitted to Carolinas Medical Center.

UPDATE: Parmalee drummer Scott Thomas has undergone three successful surgeries to repair arteries damaged during last Tuesday’s shooting. He is currently on a respirator and undergoing kidney dialysis. The band has also established a website,, to collect contributions for Thomas’ growing medical bills.
