Stone Roses’ singer Ian Brown has a new nickname for his drummer, Reni.
After the band’s performance in Amsterdam at the Heineken Music Hall last night, Brown came onstage and announced that his drummer had gone home. The audience had been expecting an encore of the song “I Am The Resurrection,” something they did in Barcelona last week.
Instead, Brown went on, saying, "I'm not joking, the drummer's gone home. Get all your aggro out on me, I can take it. What can I say, the drummer's a c**t."
But, it appeared he was joking. I mean, how can you say that with a straight face, anyway?
A source said there may have been a problem with the drumkit, but it hasn't been confirmed. One fan in attendance said after she left, the venue DJ began playing. She said: "After the song ended, the audience was still clapping and yelling and hoping the band would get back on stage. The stage was empty, but then the crew walked on stage."
We're sure Brown reserves terms like "c**t" for the ones he loves most... Watch him make the announcement below.
