Jazz musician and drumming legend Jimmy “Junebug” Jackson passed away last Saturday from congestive heart failure. Jackson was only 55 years old.
For more than two decades, Jackson toured with organist Jimmy Smith, as well as performed with jazz greats such as McCoy Tyner, George Benson, Christian McBride, Mose Davis and countless others.
The unshakable sideman known for his strong, distinctive shuffle beat will be greatly missed in the world of jazz.
