Kenny Aronoff Fills The Chickenfoot Void

Kenny Aronoff May Fill The Chickenfoot Void

Kenny Aronoff could very well be filling in for Chad Smith as Chickenfoot hits the road this September promoting their second album, Chickenfoot III. The boys are in desperate need of a stickman seeing as Smith has already committed to touring with his other band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Smith considers the high-profile basher best known for his work with John Mellencamp and John Fogerty to be a "brother from another mother." The plan is to take Aronoff on a mini-tour in November through five major cities including New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles to see if he meshes well with the band.

Chickenfoot vocalist Sammy Hagar made clear that someone like Aronoff would be “on loan” until Chad returns, and that when Smith does comes back, they will presumably make Chickenfoot IV with him.
