Drummers were saddened in February of 2009 by the passing of jazz great Louie Bellson. Louie made his mark as a brilliant player, arranger (with Duke Ellington), and composer of all types of popular, band, and symphonic music.
This past May 20 was the official unveiling of the Louie Bellson headstone monument. Guests, including family, friends, music journalists, and local politician, braved tornado weather and constant rain to commemorate the iconic jazz drummer.
