Manu Katché Inspires Paris Hotel Renovation

By Andy Doerschuk Publishing on December 15, 2010

We’ve been reporting on drumming news for a long time, but can’t remember ever seeing a story quite like this one. Drumming legend Manu Katché was one of several artists who collaborated with architect Philippe Maidenberg on the renovation of L’Hotel du Triangle D’Or in Paris, France. Maidenberg dedicated an entire floor to designs inspired by Katché, using flight cases and floor toms as bedside tables, drum sticks as curtain pulls, and splash cymbals for wall sconces. The other artists were Rickie Lee Jones, Archie Shepp, MC Solaar, and Jaques Higelin.
