Neil Peart To Write And Record Hockey Theme

Canadian hockey fans will hear Neil's theme song on the TSN network.

According to TSN and Anthem Entertainment Group, Neil Peart of Rush will record a special rendition of The Hockey Theme, the iconic theme song originally written by Dolores Claman in 1968. The song will be used during NHL broadcastson both TSN and RDS networks during the NHL season.

Peart is the most widely regarded drummer in the world today. He has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.

For this project Peart has commissioned DW Drums to create a special hockey-themed drum kit. And, he will be rehearsing the song at Drumchannel.com in Oxnard, California, prior to recording in Hollywood. Drumchannel President Don Lombardi said "We have worked closely with Neil on various programs at drumchannel.com and are delighted to assist with the recording of a theme song to be used at NHL games. It's a great honor for Neil."
