Ohio Summer Drum Party In August

(Left) Charlie Adams “wows” another clinic audience

If you’re looking for a place to chomp free hotdogs while listening to marching band music and transcending this mortal coil in myriad drum circles, then you might consider dropping by Columbiana Park in Columbiana, Ohio on Sunday, August 29.

Sponsored by Universal Percussion, the Summer Drum Party kicks off at 5:00 and will feature appearances by the 150-member South Range Marching Band as well a former Yanni drummer Charlie Adams who, Universal says, recently “wowed” the audience at a June clinic in Las Vegas (you can read a snarky review of Adams’ clinic published in the Las Vegas Weekly here).

Universal promises a free pair of sticks to everyone who shows up — just don’t mistake them for hotdogs. They taste pretty lousy with mustard, although you will get plenty of fiber.
