Is it a loving memorial to a fallen hero or cynical money grab? Hard to tell, now that the Kiss Museum has put on on the auction block a drum set formerly owned by the band’s late drummer Eric Carr, who died of heart cancer in 1991. Carr replaced original Kiss drummer Peter Criss in 1980, and played the chrome finished Ludwig kit — nicknamed “Chikara” — during the band’s 1988 Crazy Nights tour. You might as well give up on the idea of owning the entire kit, though. The Kiss Museum chose to sell each component of the set separately, and at least some of the drums have already been snatched up, which probably downgrades the value of the offering for most vintage drum collectors. Or will it increase? Hmmm ... hard to say. To check out the remaining pieces, go here. And go fast.
