Patrick Carney’s Cure For Stage Fright

In a recent interview, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney revealed that he was so spooked while playing for massive crowds at Lollapalooza, he developed a case of stage fright that continued at subsequent shows. It got so bad that Carney hired a hypnotist to help him overcome his phobia.

“(It was) a guy who worked with, like, [late North Korean leader] Kim Jong-il and Russell Crowe,” Carney told Entertainment Weekly. The next night I sleepwalked out of the hotel in my underwear ... but it worked.”

Carney graces the current cover of DRUM! Magazine, which you can pick up at your local drum shop or buy online here.
