Bernard Purdie was everywhere at NAMM, performing in the Hilton lobby with a killer funk band, and performing in an impromptu way on the floor of the show, particularly at the Superdrum and Anvil/Calzone case booths.

Anvil / Calzone Case Companies, the leading manufacturers of transit cases for entertainment, introduces several new innovative case product ranges. In addition to daily performances by Carmine Appice’s SLAMM and music legend Bernard Purdie, there was plenty of action at Booth #4849, including the Light Flight™ series and a new offering of iSeries™ Musical Instrument and DJ cases. According to President Joe Calzone, “In 2009 we showed the first iSeries, primarily seventeen unique single and combo horn cases, that were well received by the pro players that attend NAMM. This year we have filled out the range with musical instruments, racks and more – we can now offer a complete package of really well constructed cases at a very competitive price point."

Designed in conjunction with music veteran Jim Messina, Anvil’s new Light Flight cases were also on display, offering professionals that travel on airlines a revolutionary new way to fly. Light Flight cases are designed to beat airline overage costs by weighing less than 50 lbs. with instrument, allowing them to pay for themselves within a few flights! Messina’s touring guitar tech John Mooy says, “These new ultra-light cases were flawless after 65 shows and 112,000 miles. My artist’s custom amps and vintage guitars were protected perfectly while saving us thousands of dollars in overage charges on fly dates. My back thanks you too! Thanks Anvil / Calzone!"

Anvil and Calzone Cases have a national presence (three production/service centers in the USA) and offer a lifetime warranty on all case products.
