Ringo Starr has autographed three 14" Remo Buffalo Frame Drums to be used to benefit Southern California nonprofit, Arts And Services For Disabled (ASD). The Beatles drummer responded to a request by friend Remo Belli, Founder of Remo, Inc. ASD is a locally based 501(c)3 organization that works with more than 300 developmentally disabled adults in Southern California, offering music and arts therapy as part of its creative arts-oriented curriculum. In operation for more than 30 years, ASD has recently been impacted by shortfalls in the California State budget, and will use the autographed drums as a featured auction item in a September fundraiser.

“The event being planned will celebrate our ArtBeat For Humanity initiative, where students create art on Remo frame drums,” says Helen Dolas, Founder and CEO of ASD. “It’s one of the earliest forms of personal artistic embellishment on a unique item which allows for self-expression – very appropriate given some of our artists’ challenges.”
