Staind Drummer Replaced By Drum Tech

Sal Giancarelli

Staind is back with a new drummer. Former drummer Jon Wysocki, who left the band earlier this year, has been replaced by none other than his own drum technician, Sal Giancarelli. From an outsider's point of view, the change seems a bit like a slap in the face. It's strange, seeing as the band had wished Wysocki the best in his future endeavors, including a tour with the band Soil.

Guitarist Mike Mushok tried to explain the split in an interview this past weekend, saying, "Seventeen years being a band together, we went to make the record, and it was tough; things weren't really going the way we wanted [them] to. We tried to work through it, and I think it just got to the point where we realized that we weren't able to, and it was time to make a change." A vague, but all-too-familiar story, we just thought it sounded a bit whack to have the man's own techie taking his place.
