Guns ’N Roses drummer Steven Adler has been stricken with foot-in-mouth disease. During a recent interview on guitar.com, Adler completely dissed his replacement, Matt Sorum, saying, “His were just half-assed, crappy versions. Nothing personal against the guy, but he's like a goddamn drum machine. He’s got no heart; he’s got no soul; he’s got no feel. And as life and the years have shown obviously I’m not the easiest drummer to replace.” Apparently, Adler later regretted going on the record with such incendiary language about Sorum, whose bio also includes celebrated stints with The Cult and Velvet Revolver — not exactly an EV to sneeze at. On Monday Adler backtracked during an interview on the local Los Angeles morning show Good Day L.A.: “I need to apologize to Matt Sorum. I’m sorry about what I said in those interviews. The words just came out wrong. I think you’re amazing and I love you, man. Sorry about that.”
