Steven Adler's Drug Charges Dropped

By Andy Doerschuk Published August 4, 2009

On Monday, Commissioner Donald Kennedy of Los Angeles Superior Court dismissed felony drug possession charges against Steven Adler after the former Guns N' Roses drummer completed a court-ordered drug program.

Adler was arrested in 2008 while appearing on the reality show Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. It was the second time he had been caught using drugs during the show's production, which made his addictions even more infamous.

The drummer recorded Guns N' Roses first two breakthrough albums, Appetite For Destruction and G N' R Lies, but was fired in 1990 because of his spiraling drug use. In 1993, Adler settled a lawsuit against his former bandmates for $2,250,000 to cover past-due royalties.
