  • No jazz drummers. That’s funny/sad.
Here’s a great story. I was talking with Steve Ferrone (of Tom Petty fame) at a NAMM show when a young guy came up and started asking Steve if he ever played jazz or listened to jazz growing up. Steve was saying, “Yeah, I used to listen to a lot of jazz, but I really found work playing a steady beat.”  But the kid kept pestering him, hoping Steve might say that he really preferred jazz. Just then a beautiful blonde woman runs up and yells “Steve Ferrone, let me have a hug.” So there’s Steve, hugging this well-endowed fan, and he looks over her shoulder at the young guy and says…
“See what you get when you only play the two and the four!”
