Haunted Drummer Per Möller Jensen Contracts Swine Flu

By Andy Doerschuk Published September 18, 2009

Per Möller Jensen, drummer for the Swedish metal band The Haunted, has contracted H1N1 influenza, otherwise known as swine flu, forcing the band to cancel its show tonight at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg. Reportedly, the unfortunate prognosis will have little effect on the band’s schedule, since The Haunted is currently off the road and playing only occasional gigs while working on material for its next album.

The moral to the story? Even if you play drums in a high velocity, blood curdling, testosterone driven, vein popping, leather-clad, death metal band, be sure to wash your hands before diving into the backstage deli tray after the gig. Seriously.
