The Roots ?uestlove Teams Up With Amy Winehouse

Evidently, the rumors are true. The Roots’ high-profile drummer/producer ?uestlove confirmed that he and the brash British soul singer Amy Winehouse are forming a yet-unnamed supergroup, also featuring producer Raphael Saadiq on guitar. The big hang-up is that Winehouse is having tons of trouble procuring a visa to cross the U.S. border, thanks to previous drug convictions. It isn’t the first time — Winehouse failed to gain entry to the United States to appear at the Grammy Awards in 2008. Undeterred, ?uestlove (a.k.a. Ahmir Thompson) told AOL’s Spinner, “The group will definitely happen. It’s just the closest she can come to the States is Jamaica. I’m off to France soon so I’ll see if she’s up for discussing it over dinner. We're Skyping the s**t out of each other.”
